Commission proposes restrictions on cod catches and on a species of herring
The European Commission has adopted the proposal on fishing opportunities for the Baltic Sea for 2027. The proposal sets the total allowable catches (TACs) and quotas for the ten fish stocks managed by the EU in the Baltic Sea: Botnia herring, Central Baltic herring, Gulf of Riga herring, sprat, plaice, main basin salmon, Gulf of Finland salmon, Western Baltic cod, Eastern Baltic cod and Western Baltic herring.
