Italy’s leading sheep meat supply chain is taking part in Fine Food Australia 2026, scheduled to take place in Melbourne from 31 August to 3 September, within the Italian Pavilion organised by ICE, alongside 33 companies selected to represent the country’s agri-food excellence. The trade fair, the leading B2B event for the foodservice and retail sectors in the Oceania region, is taking place against a particularly favourable backdrop following the signing, last March, of the Free Trade Agreement between Italy and Australia, which opens up new opportunities for certified Italian products.
Italy is the leading European exporter of agri-food products to Australia and the fifth-largest global trading partner in the sector, with exports reaching 900 million euros in 2025, accounting for 5.8 per cent of the total market share.
The CONTAS mission forms part of the internationalisation strategy for the Sardinian PGI sheep meat supply chain.
