Processors’ association urges the government to introduce a ban similar to that of the EU
The British government is being urged to take precautionary measures regarding imports of Brazilian beef, ahead of the EU ban coming into force on 3 September (see EFA News article). News
Concerned about the possible lack of health guarantees for Brazilian animal products, members of the British Meat Processors Association (BPMA) have appealed to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) Angela Eagle, expressing their support for the concerns raised by the four UK farmers’ associations and calling for immediate action, whilst the UK government is conducting its own assessment
