Movement, direction, evolution: Trajectories is the theme chosen for the tenth edition of the Food&Science Festival, scheduled to take place in Mantua from May 15 to 17. This title marks an important milestone in the history of the Festival and accurately describes the state of the contemporary agri-food sector, which is undergoing profound and often converging forces — climatic, technological, economic, social, and political — that are reshaping its present and, above all, its future. For three days, the Festival will bring the city’s iconic locations — squares, cloisters, historic buildings, and theaters — to life, transforming Mantua into a widespread laboratory where scientific knowledge, culture, and urban space intertwine.
2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year: between new global trade agreements, the launch of the agricultural carbon market, the rise of artificial intelligence and data-driven systems, and the evolution of European policies, the Festival will explore the trajectories that are transforming 21st-century agriculture, recounting the forces driving innovation and the choices that will shape the next ten years of the agri-food system.
