At the heart of the event is the market, featuring a wide variety of regional produce: from pit-aged cheeses to fresh specialities
On Sunday 18 October, from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, the historic centre of Roncofreddo will host ‘Oro Bianco’, the Emilia-Romagna cheese and dairy products market festival. This second edition is organised by the ‘I Rubiconi’ food and wine association (CheftoChef emiliaromagnacuochi, Slow Food Emilia-Romagna, Tempi di Recupero and Il Lavoro dei contadini), with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region and Roncofreddo Town Council, as well as sponsorship from RomagnaBanca. The event brings together cheesemakers, chefs, winemakers, and lovers of cheese and good food.
At the heart of the event is the market, showcasing a wide variety of regional produce: from pit-aged cheeses to fresh specialities. ‘Oro Bianco’ is the first event to emerge from the collaboration between ‘I Rubiconi’ and the Municipality of Roncofreddo, a staunch supporter of the food and wine network project. In a short space of time, it has become an event capable of bringing together the region’s finest cheese producers and raising awareness – particularly amongst families and young people – of the nutritional value of PDO and PGI products, as well as the commitment of farms and dairies to protecting the landscape and fostering the economic development of the hilly and Apennine areas,” emphasises Sergio Diotti, president of the iRubiconi area.
