The Italian Oyster Fest, the first festival dedicated to the Italian oyster, is being held in La Spezia (Calata Paita 6-8 October). Production in Italy amounts to 500 tons
There is the pink one from Scardovari, the green one from the Gulf of Poets, the white one from Gargano, the golden one and the black one from Goro. These are the Italian oysters, which take on different pigmentations depending on the place, the marine terroir, where they are bred and which makes them unique. Different 'nuances' that will be part of a single picture: the Italian Oyster Fest, the first festival dedicated to the Italian oyster, which will be held in La Spezia, Paita cove, from today, Friday 6, to Sunday 8 October and organised by Legacoop Liguria in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of the Ligurian Rivieras, the Port Authority of the Eastern Ligurian Sea, and the La Spezia Mussels Farmers' Cooperative. The event also enjoys the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, as well as the Liguria Region and La Spezia Municipality.
