Joint operation by the Genoa Coast Guard: stop to the import of over 400 kilos of alien fish
Seizure of 650 kilos of fish and 170 kilos of plant products. This is the "booty" of a joint operation by inspectors from the first Area Fisheries Control Center of the Genoa Coast Guard who discovered and seized over 400 kilos of alien fish species.
The operation was conducted on June 10 at Milan Malpensa International Airport: the intervention, carried out in collaboration with the Customs and Monopolies Agency and the Guardia di Finanza of the Lombardy airport, focused on the luggage of passengers arriving from extra-Schengen flights, in particular from China. As we have said, a total of 650 kilos of fish products and 170 kilos of plants were seized, transported without health certifications and in violation of hygiene standards, in particular the cold chain.
