Fines totalling 25,000 euros in Lombardy, Veneto, Trentino and Friuli
Around 2 tonnes of expired or untraceable fish products, with a total value of around 25,000 euros. This is the result of Operation ‘Naxos’, coordinated by the Fisheries Control Centre of the Venice Maritime Directorate, which led to 32 inspections and 9 fines being issued.
The onshore checks covered the entire territory under the jurisdiction of the Venice Maritime Directorate, namely eastern Lombardy, Veneto, the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano, and the province of Pordenone. The inspections took place in restaurants in a number of major tourist resorts along the Veneto coast and on Lake Garda.
