Restaurant Sagardi 1881 hosted the inaugural dinner of Alaska Seafood, one of the most important industry events in the world.
On 5 May, the iconic Sagardi 1881 restaurant, with a spectacular view of the Barcelona harbour, hosted the long-awaited inaugural dinner of Alaska Seafood, an event that has already established itself as one of the most important events in the world.
Organised by Alaska Seafood, the evening was an opportunity to welcome suppliers, distributors, seafood industry representatives and international members of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI), who come each year to represent the excellence of Alaska's wild seafood at this prestigious international trade fair.
Despite the rainy start to the day, the weather provided a symbolic finale: a rainbow over the port of Barcelona that marked the perfect start to an unforgettable evening. The dinner brought together 120 participants, including media, foodie influencers and culinary professionals, creating a welcoming space and synergies around wild and sustainable Alaskan fisheries.
The menu, carefully crafted to highlight the versatility, quality and flavour of wild Alaskan seafood, was one of the highlights of the evening.
COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT
Sustainable management of fisheries resources has been a fundamental principle of the Alaska State Constitution since 1959. Respecting and defending the environment defines much of our identity, which is why today Alaska is leading the global movement to fish in harmony with the ecosystem.
By closely monitoring stocks and fishing responsibly, Alaska ensures that its seafood will be enjoyed for generations to come. In fact, fish farms are banned in Alaska to protect wild species from the multiple harms that fish farms cause to the environment.
All Alaskan fish is 100% wild caught and this makes it of exceptional quality and highly prized by top chefs. With this dinner, Alaska Seafood reaffirms its commitment to promote high quality, sustainable, wild seafood products, which every year conquer the palates of consumers and professionals all over the world.
The event left an excellent taste in the mouth for what was once again an unforgettable edition of Seafood Expo Global.
