One year on from the launch of the project “Environmental and eco-physiological mapping of the blue crab in the inland and coastal waters of Veneto (Blue Crab Action Plan)”, the Region today presented the interim results of the strategic programme designed to tackle one of the most serious environmental, economic and social crises of recent years.
The press conference in Rovigo was attended by the Regional Councillor for Fisheries, Dario Bond; the National Special Commissioner for the Blue Crab, Enrico Caterino; the Director of Veneto Agricoltura, Federico Caner; Dr Franca Baldessin of ARPAV; lecturers and researchers from the Universities of Padua and Ca’ Foscari Venice involved in the project; representatives of the Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo Foundation; Regional Councillor Cristiano Corazzari; the President of the Province of Rovigo, Enrico Ferrarese; ARPAV technicians; the mayors of coastal and lagoon municipalities, together with professional fishing and aquaculture organisations, cooperatives and consortia.
