CREA's aquaculture activities presented in Barcelona
September was the month of scientific congresses and the Centre's Aquaculture Group presented the results of several studies at two important conferences held in the Catalan capital: ‘LCA on FOODS’ and ‘International conference of Aquaculture and Fisheries’.
Barcelona was the venue for two important international conferences these days. LCA on Foods is the most important conference on the topic of the environmental impacts of agri-food products. Arianna Martini and Riccardo Napolitano, young researchers from the Aquaculture group at the Monterotondo site, presented several CREA studies on typical Italian aquaculture products such as caviar, sturgeon and clam. It was also an opportunity to present the European BLUEBOOST project, in which CREA is one of the partners, and which aims to assess the effectiveness of integrated multi-trophic aquaculture, an emerging production model involving the farming of fish, molluscs and seaweed in the same plant.
