"In this context," the director continued, "we want to emphasize how the Italian seafood sector represents excellence, fully aligned with the values this new UNESCO designation seeks to promote: professionalism of operators, responsible fishing chains, food safety, product quality and wholesomeness, respect for the environment and for labor, and fair and responsible sourcing."
"The recognition of Italian cuisine as an intangible cultural heritage also represents a unique opportunity to strengthen and promote our agri-food and seafood supply chains, highlighting not only the dishes themselves, but the communities, regions, traditions, and stories of families and businesses that keep our food culture alive every day," the director concluded.
