“This morning I spoke to the owner of Cesare Regnoli & Figlio srl, the fish processing and packaging company in Ariano Polesine (RO) involved in the terrible fire yesterday afternoon. The flames are now contained and the blaze has almost been put out by the firefighters who rushed from Adria, Rovigo, Castelmassa, Codigoro, Ferrara, Piove di Sacco, Venice and Verona with 35 men and various vehicles. Unfortunately, the entire production area, 7,000 square meters, was destroyed.” The Veneto Region Fisheries Councilor Cristiano Corazzari conveyed the Veneto Region’s solidarity to Mauro Regnoli this morning, immediately making sure of what had happened. “Fortunately, none of the company’s 300 employees were injured, but the damage is enormous. The firefighters saved the administrative area and a warehouse, but the production area is completely unusable. The flames also involved another warehouse, whose walls collapsed and hit tanks of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and oil used for production. Medusa is one of the most important companies in the area, a point of reference for excellent fish gastronomy. I assure the Regnoli family of the full support of the Veneto Region, as far as it is concerned and as permitted by the sector regulations”.<
