Professor of Management Engineering at the Milan Polytechnic
The Federpesca General Assembly was held on Saturday 18 January, electing Giovanni Azzone as President of the Federation. Azzone is Professor of Management Engineering at the Milan Polytechnic, where he was Rector from 2010 to 2016, and is currently President of Fondazione Cariplo and Acri, the association of savings bank foundations. His experience will certainly be fundamental in accompanying the federation in the challenges that await the sector: from training to credit access policies, from the modernisation of the fleet to a relationship with scientific research that, together with environmental sustainability, considers a better balance with the economic and social sustainability of a sector that is fundamental for the country's food economy. Giovanni Azzone succeeds in the role to Luigi Giannini, the historic President of Federpesca, who was elected Honorary President of the Federation on the same day.
