Unfavourable situation also for slaughtering
A setback in November for the profitability of Italian pig farming. The Crefis index (www.crefis.it) of the closed cycle shows a cyclical drop of 3.2%, although it remains above the levels recorded last year (+8.6%). Despite the slowdown in the costs for the procurement of some raw materials for pig feed, the lowering of quotations for heavy slaughtered animals destined for the protected product - which in November stopped at 2.289 euro/kg (-3.6% decrease on a monthly basis and -1% on an annual basis) - led to a reduction in the profitability of the sector.
