AOP Italia Zootecnica has today submitted a formal request to Minister of Health Orazio Schillaci and Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida, urging the immediate initiation of a procedure to provisionally suspend beef imports from Argentina.

This request follows the European Union's recent decision to halt imports of beef and other animal-origin products from Brazil due to inadequate guarantees regarding the use of antimicrobials in livestock farming.
