The European Parliament today adopted its negotiating mandate on new rules aimed at rebalancing power relations in the agri-food supply chain. In the mandate for negotiations with the Council, adopted on Wednesday with 532 votes in favour, 78 against and 25 abstentions, Parliament proposes several changes to the current Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) legislation aimed at strengthening farmers' bargaining power and stabilising their incomes. The proposal is part of the so-called Omnibus III package.
