Appeal to politics and Europe for funds and new measures to contain wild boars
Even healthy animals from farms in ‘at-risk’ areas pay the consequences of “swine fever”, ending up being sold at a derisory price, when their meat ends up in the Italian supply chain and resold at the same price as meat far from the outbreaks. This is what emerged from the conference entitled Epidemiology of PSA, knowing its origins to fight its spread, which was held on Thursday 28 November at CremonaFiere, within the 79th edition of the International Livestock Fairs in Cremona. The meeting, organised by Confagricoltura Lombardia and Libera associazione Agricoltori Cremonesi, was attended, among others, by Davide Berta, president of the Federazione Regionale di Prodotto Allevamenti Suini di Confagricoltura Lombardia, Antonio Boselli, president of Confagricoltura Lombardia, Silvia Bellini, Head of Strutture Sorveglianza Epidemiologica Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale della Lombardia ed Emilia-Romagna, and Alessandro Beduschi, councillor for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry of Regione Lombardia.
