Filiera Italia: 'Bad signals, increasing inequalities'
"Very bad signals from food sales" is how Luigi Scordamaglia, CEO of Filiera Italia, comments on the data just released by Istat, which report a further drop, -5.7%, for domestic trade in food goods in April in terms of quantity compared to April of last year. It adds, 'Never has the drop in purchases of essential foodstuffs been so accentuated. The first quarter, in fact, had recorded the same trend, with a drop between -4.4% and -4.7%, although less accentuated.
