Health hazards and zoonoses: why biosecurity must be a priority
“Insisting on insisting, because biosecurity on the farm is not just a matter of filling out a form or creating dedicated facilities. It is a modus operandi that every farmer must adopt at every moment of their daily work. A change of pace that does not relegate biosecurity measures to an occasional practice and/or one linked only to particular situations: it is a new way of thinking about how to produce pigs."
Giornata della Suinicoltura (Pig Farming Day), which will celebrate its eighth edition on 15 October 2025 and will take place from 8.30 a.m. at the RMH Hotel in Modena, includes a section dedicated to biosecurity in its packed programme for the morning plenary session, which will be led by Annalisa Scollo, lecturer at the Department of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Turin.
