Brussels, 6 May 2026 – Yesterday, 5 May 2026, a high-level technical meeting was held at the Italian Embassy in Brussels, marking a historic turning point for the representation of the European horse meat sector.
The meeting, organised by the Honourable Silvia Sardone (MEP for the Lega and Federal Deputy Secretary), saw the top-level delegation from the Italian Horse Industry (FEI) received by Dr Marco Canaparo, Italy’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the European Union (COREPER I), with the participation of Prof. Romano Marabelli, doyen of Italian veterinary institutions.
