The crisis particularly affects small farms and milk producers
In Italy, 19,000 cattle farms have closed in ten years, generating a 23% decline. The percentage rises to 30% for mixed dairy cattle farms. The data was reported by Serafino Cremonini, president of Assocarni, who, just over two weeks ago, sounded the alarm about the crisis in the sector and, in particular, the lack of self-sufficiency in the national cattle sector (read EFA News).
