Slight decrease in profitability for both slaughtering and curing of PDO hams
The profitability of Italian pig farming continued to increase in August. For the closed cycle, the Crefis index shows +7.8% at the cyclical level and +8.6% at the tendential level; a trend determined both by the decrease in the costs of raw materials for feed and by the increase in the quotations of heavy slaughter pigs destined for the protected circuit.
