In June, prices for slaughter pigs, breeding pigs and sows for slaughter fell both on a month-on-month and year-on-year basis.
On a month-on-month basis, the profitability of Italian farmers operating under the Closed Cycle, Site 1 and Site 2 schemes has fallen; whilst the profitability of operators under Site 3 is recovering. However, current levels remain lower than those of last year.
The profitability of Italian slaughterhouses has improved, both compared with May and with last year.
