Retail, green products increasingly present on the shelves: the analysis of the GS1 Immagino Observatory
84.8% of the products sold in Italian supermarkets and hypermarkets say on the label that they are environmentally, socially or animal welfare friendly: this is a basket of about 117,000 references that generates 44.4 billion sales, up +3.6% year on year in value and down -1.6% in volume, showing an increase of 1.6 points in the percentage of products on the shelf.
This is the finding of the Osservatorio Immagino diGS1 Italy, which, in its sixteenth edition, continues its reading of sustainability claims on consumer products, carried out in collaboration with the Institute of Management of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa.
