And sales of pre-sliced meat have risen by 10% compared with pre-Covid levels

23, Apr 2026

The Salame Felino PGI Consortium has released its 2025 financial results, showing stable retail turnover at €90 million (compared to €89 million in 2024), whilst production figures also rose slightly: of the 5.3 million kilograms of processed meat, 3.6 million were allocated to the certified product (+1.3%), figures that bring total production to €46 million.

Against a backdrop of established trends, the pre-sliced segment continues to perform excellently, closing 2025 with a 2% increase, reaching 575,000 kg allocated (+10% on 2019). Export performance was also strong, remaining stable at 5% following the significant growth of 2024 (+2.5% on 2023): over 140,000 kg of Salame Felino PGI were exported, 79% of which went to European countries, with Germany as the main market, followed by Austria and Belgium.

«Given the socio-economic conditions in our country, characterised by lower purchasing power, we are very pleased to have closed 2025 with slight growth, reflecting the appreciation for Salame Felino IGP» said Umberto Boschi, president of the Consorzio di Tutela del Salame Felino IGP.  «And the steadily rising trend in pre-sliced products demonstrates the versatility of this product of excellence».
